A nervous or mental breakdown is a term used to describe a period of intense mental distress.

It’s happening again.
You held everything in for too long;
It’s all coming out.

You try to stop.
Breathe, breathe,
Calm down:
You repeat that to yourself,
But it doesn’t stop.

Why do you do this to yourself?
You know this always happens.
You put on a front.
You appear ‘emotionless’ to many.

Breathe, breathe.
You’ve said this an infinite number of times now;
Calm down,
But it doesn’t stop.

This hasn’t happened in a while.
It was bound to happen though.
Don’t be surprised,
You held it in for too long.
